Is EDR4RXD1 NSF/ANSI 42 certified?

Certification answer: the genuine EDR4RXD1's NSF/ANSI 42 claims are named in the certifier's live listing; its NSF/ANSI 53, NSF/ANSI 401 claims rest on documents, not a live listing — each is labeled below. The full certification record, with each claim labeled by the strength of its evidence, follows.

Certifications — documents and listings

A certification counts as listed here only when a certifier's listing names this cartridge or its system. Anything else is labeled above as what it is — a manufacturer's statement or a reproduction. See how to check a cartridge in the NSF listing.

What does EDR4RXD1 fit?

Whirlpool refrigerators that take Filter 4 / UKF8001; Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air and Amana refrigerators that take UKF8001; Kenmore models that take 9084. Match the code on your old cartridge or the label inside the filter compartment — this page covers only the cartridge named in its title.

Verdict

Bottom line: The genuine Filter 4 is verified in the live NSF listing for NSF/ANSI 42; its 53 and 401 claims rest on a 2026-09-30 reproduction the live listings no longer confirm — check any cartridge in the live listing under its own code before you buy it.

Verified in the live listing for NSF/ANSI 42 only: the live NSF International listing (checked 2026-11-06) names EDR4RXD1 under Whirlpool Corporation systems W11256135 and W11311161, with chlorine, Class I particulate, and taste and odor claims. The NSF/ANSI 53 and 401 claims rest on a reproduction of NSF directory entries checked 2026-09-30; neither live listing names this cartridge today, so treat those two claims as unverified and check any cartridge in the live listing under its own code before you buy it.

What's wrong with EDR4RXD1?

The drawback: Capacity is not a flat 200 gallons: in the NSF listing the same cartridge is rated 200 gallons in a system with a filter replacement indicator (PID) and only 100 gallons in a system without one, so fridges without an indicator get half the rated life. It is also a 6-month cartridge, so the cost repeats twice a year.

Genuine vs third-party notes

Genuine cartridges come in everydrop by Whirlpool packaging and replace UKF8001. A third-party cartridge that claims the same standards should name the same certifier and a listing that names its own replacement element — a logo on a box is not a listing.

No specific third-party cartridge has been checked for this page yet. When one is, it will be named here with its own listing check and a dated price.
